Local man Michael Heffernan and his family have recently up-graded their BT broadband service to BT Infinity, BT’s superfast fibre optic broadband, which offers download speeds of up to 40Mb and upload speeds of 10Mb.

Michael explains how BT Infinity has benefited him and his family.

"We upgraded our broadband service to BT Infinity six months ago and it has completely changed the way in which we use the internet. Previously, our connection had been a bit on the slow side due to our distance from the telephone exchange. This wasn’t ideal as I have two boys who love to use the internet for the PS3, Xbox and viewing programmes on the iPlayer. Once I found out from BT that Infinity was available in our area, I didn’t hesitate to get it installed. 

"I'll be honest, I had my doubts about how fast it would actually be, but once the engineers had fitted it and I sat down with my laptop, I was amazed by the results.

"I now get a constant connection of over 30Mb/s and access to these speeds has opened up the possibilities of the internet to the whole family. We no longer get buffering messages when viewing the iPlayer and have begun to rent films online and view them as if they were a DVD. 

"My boys would also download a lot of music and the connection means that the time they have to wait for tracks to complete has been greatly reduced. It doesn’t matter how many of us are online at the same time, we still get superfast speeds.

"With the new BT HomeHub we get a really strong wireless signal throughout the house, which gives us greater flexibility, we can all now enjoy our own space much more! The connection has been rock solid with no problems since it has been fitted and having this kind of confidence in my connection has enabled me to work from home on occasion and view presentations as if I was in the office. 

"We couldn’t do without our BT Infinity connection now as it has made our home life so much more enjoyable. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a top quality, superfast internet service."
